I love Diamanda Galas. Even though I can only take some of her music in small doses, I love any and every interview with her.

I am a d8

Take the quiz at dicepool.com

No use trying to fight it, you're an eight-sided die, a d8. A fine example of simple elegance, the d8 is one of the least appreciated types of dice, and is often neglected. You are known to be quiet and shy, outward traits that conceal viscous sarcasm and mean wit. You are very smart, yet wise enough to hide your intelligence the quicker they found out how smart you are, the sooner they'll put you to work, which is something you can do without. People call you dark and pessimistic, or moody and cynical. You find little point in arguing.

Americans are number 1!

Number 1 in drug use!

Drug use "does not appear to be simply related to drug policy," the researchers wrote, "since countries with more stringent policies toward illegal drug use did not have lower levels of such drug use than countries with more liberal policies."

Oh I think the relation is there, just not in the positive way prohibitionists would like us to believe.

Sadly, the single and album are out of print in the States, but you can probably find them online, at least through a UK site.

Nothing wrong with having a romance author on the radio, but I really don't care for her stereotype of all genre in general being consolatory. It'd also be helpful that if Susan Mallory were to talk about neurology, she should also know something about it, not just cherry picking pop-sci data in order to justify readership. Look, it's entertainment, I don't think anyone's choices really need to be justified.

All well and good, but

Could someone explain to me the point of the use of eerie music at the end?
